Who we are

Guest Haus is Jeremy and Andrew. We started in 2022 with one home in East Austin and a simple idea: that a rental could be run the way a good small hotel is, by people who live nearby, know the building, and answer the phone themselves.

We manage homes across Austin and the Hill Country now. The two of us still run the company, still set the standard, and still read every message that comes in.

There is no platform between you and us. When you book here, the people who confirm it are the people responsible for the home.

One standard

We don't own these homes. Their owners do. What we do is decide what happens in them: how they're furnished, how they're cleaned, how fast someone answers, and what gets fixed before you notice it.

A marketplace shows you thousands of hosts, each with their own idea of clean, stocked, and how long a reply should take. Here there is one idea. Stay in one Guest Haus and you know what the next one will be like, and that is the point.

How the homes come to be

Some of these homes we built out from empty. Others came to us furnished and were brought up to the same standard. Either way the work is done with an interior designer who works only in short-term rentals, which is a narrower craft than it sounds.

It means designing for a group that arrives tired, cooks one big meal, and doesn't want to negotiate over who gets the good bedroom. That's a different brief from decorating a home, and most of it shows up in decisions nobody photographs.

Guests rarely notice any of it. They notice that the home works.

What a stay is like

The home is checked and set up the morning you arrive. Your message is read by one of us and answered quickly, at any hour. If something breaks, someone drives over.
